We’re celebrating the glorious British Bank Holiday with a beach-themed ‘Inspiration Arbour’ at Rutland Garden Centre!
Our seventh ‘Inspiration Arbour’ is an absolute step-change from the last flower-packed arbours, featuring just an array of grasses reminiscent of sandy beach dunes!
We wanted to celebrate the opening of our new polytunnel - which houses our grasses, acers, hostas and ferns – and a grass-themed inspiration arbour seemed fitting given it’s Bank Holiday weekend and a lot of us head to the beach!
The array of ornamental grasses look amazing – particularly when the wind blows! There’s a range of Pennisetum, as well as Cordyline, all set off with some stunning sedum (‘Red Sparkle’) and a touch of Perovskia (‘Little Spire’) just to evoke the blue of the sea!
There’s a smattering of white pebbles, just to evoke the idea of the beach, and we couldn’t resist a little ‘homage’ to the seaside in our ice-cream bunting!
All of the plants used are currently all in stock and can be bought if you feel so inspired! We’ve even placed them right next to the Arbour so you don’t have to search for them (or steal them from the display!!!) But, if you can’t find what you are looking for, do just ask one of our experienced horticulturalists who are always on hand.
The terracotta planters, come in a range of different shapes and sizes, which showcase the grasses beautifully, are also available to purchase.
Do come and visit Rutland Garden Centre to see the arbour for yourself – it’s much more beautiful than the pictures show (colourful flowers may ‘pop’ on photos – but grasses come into their own in real life!)
